Product information

The Steren 200-992 is a pocket-sized analog satellite finder. It detects signal strength for Free-To-Air (FTA), C-band, and Ku-band satellites. It connects directly inline between your satellite dish and receiver. It requires no extra batteries. The receiver powers it automatically.

The Steren 200-992 works on standard, single-satellite Ku-band LNBs that output a traditional intermediate frequency (950–2250 MHz). It will not work directly on multi-satellite or modern single-wire multiplexed (SWM) LNBs without specialized splitters or power inserters.
DirecTV LNB Compatibility
  • Phase 3 LNB (Works): This legacy multi-satellite LNB (used for satellites at 101°, 110°, and 119°) works if you plug the meter directly into any of its 4 output ports before any external multi-switches.
  • Standard Round 18-inch Dish LNB (Works): Traditional single or dual-output Ku-band LNBs are fully compatible.
  • SWM LNBs (Does Not Work Directly): Modern Slimline SWM LNBs (which use a single cable to power multiple tuners) block the meter's analog tracking. To use it, you must connect the meter to the legacy port (if available) or use a SWM-compatible alignment tool.
Dish Network LNB Compatibility
  • Legacy Single/Dual LNBs (Works): Traditional single-satellite Ku LNBs work perfectly.
  • DishPro LNBs (Works with caution): Standard DishPro LNBs output frequencies up to 2150 MHz, which fits within the meter's limit.
  • DishPro Plus (DPP) Twin/Quad LNBs (Limited): These LNBs have built-in switches. The meter can only read the signal from the default satellite port (usually 119°W) when first powered on.
  • Dish Hybrid (DPH) LNBs (Does Not Work): Modern Hopper-era hybrid LNBs use a different channel stacking technology that prevents traditional analog meters from reading individual satellite frequencies.
