The Dish 1000.2 Satellite Antenna has several improvements over the older Dish 1000 . Those improvements include simplifying the lnbf into one piece rather than having a Dish Pro Plus lnbf and a separate lnbf for the 129 satellite.
The 1000.2 also has another port for a wing dish. This feature is especially valuable to Dishnetworks international customers who want both HD and international programming which may be found on the 61.5 or 148 satellites. It should be noted that the major international satellite, the 118.7 in linear polarized and is not compatible with the 1000.2. Regardless, the 61.5 has Arabic, Portugese, South Hindi, and Pakistan programming along with many local networks. The 148 only has Arabic, South Hindi, and Pakistan programming. Because Dishnetwork has so many satellites with wide span in orbital locations having a Satellite Dish which is able to accomodate wing antennas has been important. The main problem being the 1000.2 is not capable of integrating Dishes main international Satellite, the 118.7.
